A ridge of high pressure will build into the North Country with clearing skies and cool temperatures expected today and tonight, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Temperatures will slowly climb back toward normal over the weekend into early next week before cooling back down toward the middle of next week, NWS says.

Highs today will be in the lower 30s with sunny skies and light and variable winds, the service says. Overnight lows will be around 12 with mostly cloudy skies.

Saturday morning will likely see sunshine with a slight chance of snow showers in the morning and then partly sunny in the afternoon with a chance of rain or snow showers, NWS says. Highs will reach into the upper 30s with winds around 10 mph.

Saturday night lows will be around 20 degrees with a 40 percent chance of snow showers.

Partly sunny skies and highs in the mid 30s are expected for Sunday.
