Clear, sunny and warm weather today could give way to thunderstorms on Tuesday, the National Weather Service says.
Forecasters are calling clear skies with highs around 80 and a few degrees cooler in the Star Lake area. That region is also looking at a 20 percent chance on thunderstorms, mainly before 3 p.m., the National Weather Service says.
Tonight should be partly cloudy with temperatures in the low 60s and a light south wind, meteorologists say.
Tuesday has a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the county in the late morning or early afternoon, with slightly greater odds in Potsdam, forecasters say.

This afternoon - Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Southwest wind around 10 mph.
Tonight - Partly cloudy, with a low around 62. Southwest wind 3 to 5 mph.
Tuesday - A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. Southwest wind 3 to 7 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tuesday night - A chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then a chance of showers between midnight and 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 58. Light west wind. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Wednesday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. Calm wind becoming northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.
