MASSENA -- Cleanup could soon start at the site of a burned out apartment complex on South Main Street.
David Seguin, the building’s owner, awarded an asbestos remediation bid to a contactor and is expected to soon move forward with getting the rubble out, according to Massena Fire Department Foreman Ken McGowan.
McGowan added that there is no timeframe outlined in village code for getting rid of fire rubble.
“We’ll be knocking on his door” if steps aren’t taken in the near future, he said.
The fire displaced 10 residents.
