Claxton-Hepburn recognizing Ogdensburg PT staff for their 'National Physical Therapy Month'

OGDENSBURG-- October is what Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center calls “National Physical Therapy Month (NPTM),” and they are recognizing their rehabilitation services staff.

NPTM is a commemoration by the American Physical Therapy Association that is “designed to recognize the impact that physical therapists and physical therapist assistants make in restoring and improving motion in people's lives,” CHMC said.

“Physical therapists treat people of all ages and abilities and work collectively with their patients. They are movement experts who can identify, diagnose, and treat movement problems. Physical therapists create treatment plans designed for each person’s individual goals, challenges, and needs,” the hospital said in a news release. “They can often provide safer ways to manage pain instead of using opioids that can cause depression, overdose, and addiction. Physical therapy treatment can sometimes help a patient avoid expensive or invasive surgical procedures.”
