OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center is recognizing what they call “National Pharmacist Month” this October highlighting “the significant contributions of pharmacy staff to keep patients and community healthy,” the hospital said in a news release.
“Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are the general public’s most accessible health care professionals possessing a wealth of knowledge,” the release said. “Pharmacists monitor and prevent drug interactions, consult prescribers on new and emerging treatment options, and help patients understand how to use their medications safely and effectively. Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in dispensing medications and are accountable to the supervising pharmacist who is legally responsible for the care and safety of patients served by the pharmacy.”
