OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center’s Breast Health Center at the Connection for Women has been designated a breast imaging center of excellence by the American College of Radiology.
The college recognizes breast-imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy and breast ultrasound, including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy.
Claxton-Hepburn’s Breast Health Center is the only center in the North Country to be designated a breast imaging center of excellence and accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.
The center is fully accredited in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy.
The designation and accreditation are given to facilities that have voluntarily committed to provide a high level of care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and performance review.
“Our staff has worked hard to accomplish this prestigious recognition that ensures our patients receive the most state-of-the-art breast imaging care available,” said Ali Gharagozloo, medical director of radiology at Claxton-Hepburn.
