OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center’s auxiliary recently gave the hospital $144,000.

It included:

• $3,000 to assist in renovating first and third floor waiting rooms with TVs, rocking chairs and furniture

• $5,000 to the Lifeline Department for equipment and scholarships for subscribers who cannot afford the service

• $30,000 to human resource, physical therapy and occupational therapy departments for functional testing equipment.

• $75,000 to finish a $200,000 pledge.

• $25,000 as a gift to the Annual Appeal.

• Six $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors entering the medical field.

Since 1953, the auxiliary has given the hospital a total of $1.3 million, the group said.
