Clarkson’s online MBA program lauded as among best for vets

POTSDAM -- U.S. News & World Report has named Clarkson University’s online MBA program one of the best in the nation for veterans.

The publication’s 2015 Best Online Programs for Veterans rankings are a measurement of how affordable, accessible and reputable the program is in consideration of financial benefits available specifically to people with military experience.

“As a veteran myself, I am very proud that we have achieved this distinction through our continued commitment to those who have served our country,” said Stephen Sauer, associate dean of Clarkson’s graduate business programs. “As a military-friendly university, we strive to provide veterans and active-duty service members with an education that is affordable, accessible and reputable, geared specifically to fulfill their needs.”

Clarkson’s online MBA classes are taught by the same regular full-time professors that teach on campus. This differentiates Clarkson’s program from many of those offered by other schools.

“When veterans return to higher education they can experience unique challenges during their transition out of the military and into civilian life,” said Brian Kelly, editor and chief content officer at U.S. News. “The Best Online Programs for Veterans are designed to help veterans balance applying, paying for and completing a degree, on top of their work and family commitments.”

Clarkson provides full tuition benefits to qualifying post-9-11 active duty service members, veterans and eligible dependents of military personnel under the federal government’s Yellow Ribbon Program.

In September, for the fifth consecutive year, Clarkson was designated a Military Friendly School by Victory Media. And in December, Military Advanced Education (MAE) awarded Clarkson University the designation of a Top School in its 2015 MAE Guide to Colleges & Universities, measuring best practices in military and veteran education.
