POTSDAM -- Clarkson University's Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) program presented a seminar for professionals again this summer.
The annual four-day on-campus program was again sold out, with 40 participants from 14 states and the District of Columbia.
"We are pleased that our seminar continues to attract working professionals from numerous highly respected global corporations," says Calrkson's Global Supply Chain Management Chair and director of the program Farzad Mahmoodi.
In addition to lectures by faculty experts, the course includes simulations and negotiations exercises. Participants also have networking opportunities.
"Our curriculum is effective because it mirrors the intensive levels of cross-disciplinary integration and systems approach that are a must for successful corporations in today's global environment," says Mahmoodi. "We provide insights and practical tools that help participants streamline and improve their own corporate operations."
Topics included emerging trends, proven strategies, measuring financial performance, inventory management and logistics, global sourcing and supply integration, coping with supply disruptions, economics of outsourcing, negotiations in management, and strategies.
Since the seminars began, nearly 400 executives, managers, directors and consultants from 35 states and four continents have attended, representing more than 60 large corporations, including 30 Fortune 500 companies.
Clarkson's GSCM program is celebrating its 10th straight year of being ranked by U.S. News & World Report in the national Top 20.
