STOCKHOLM -- A Bombay man was jailed for stealing a vehicle and fleeing from police Monday on State Route 11C, according to state police.
State police said they responded to a report of a theft of a vehicle at 11:33 a.m. in Lawrence.
Shawn D. Schreier, 21, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, felony, resisting arrest, third-degree fleeing an officer, leaving the scene of a property-damage accident, petit larceny, failure to report an accident, and reckless driving, troopers said.
He was additionally charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, no license, unregistered vehicle, failure to obey a police officer, failure to keep right on a two lane road, improper passing on right, and unsafe passing on the left, police said.
Troopers said other charges included improper passing on the right, driving left on the crest grade, driving left on pavement markings, failure to stop at a stop sign, moving unsafely from a lane, failure to use a designated lane, illegal signal, and unsafe tires.
Schreier was jailed on $5,000 bond, police said.
