POTSDAM -- Clarkson University is hosting its annual Roller Coaster Camp this week, July 22-27.
About 110 local students and teachers will participate in the weeklong event. The participants will be organized into “companies” and will design an original model of a functioning roller coaster. The hands-on camp activities will provide students with an opportunity to learn problem-solving skills, teamwork, and computer literacy.
The camp also includes a day-long trip to Six Flags Great Escape in Lake George to research and collect data on real roller coasters.
On Saturday, July 27, the camp concludes with a showcase day for family, friends, and teachers to see what the students have achieved over the week, and an awards ceremony.
