POTSDAM -- Clarkson University is expecting 100 attendees as they act as primary host for the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) Region 2 conference this weekend.

Students and administrators from around New York, Ontario and Quebec will attend the gathering, Friday night, Nov. 4 at SUNY Potsdam, all day Saturday at Clarkson University, and Sunday morning St. Lawrence University.

Founded in 1914, ACUI is a nonprofit educational organization that brings together college union and student activities professionals from hundreds of schools in seven countries. Its members work on building campus community.

The will be presentations on how student affairs and academic affairs can work together, infusing leadership education throughout a curriculum, designing, funding and building a new student center presented by Clarkson Dean of Students Kurt Stimeling, and a panel of student leaders from the four area colleges who will address why they got involved, what they got out of the experience, and give tips to professional staff on what advisors have done both positively and negatively during their college career.
