After a year-long assignment at NASA headquarters in Washington, D.C., 1994 Clarkson University graduate Michael L. Sarafin has returned to Houston in his previous role as a Flight Director.
Since his return, he says that he is frequently asked, “Now that the Space Shuttle is retired, what are you doing?” He says that the quickest answer is to watch a video just released by NASA public affairs called “Orion – Factory to Flight.”
It shows an Orion capsule test flight that he is helping to lead, in addition to his International Space Station mission support duties.
The Orion flight test depicted is scheduled to launch in October 2013. The video shows key engineering tests and milestones leading to a high Earth orbit test flight in about 18 months.
The video can be seen at www.nasa.gov/multimedia/videogallery/index.html?media_id=125642591 .
