POTSDAM -- Clarkson University engineering students representing the Society of Women Engineers recently visited Brad Filiatrault’s Technology Education classes at A.A. Kingston Middle School.
The SWE representatives spoke with students about engineering careers and involved students in a hands-on problem solving project demonstrating how engineers work to create solutions to problems.
PCS high school student Emma Kroll and PCS high school technology teacher Nick Leuthauser also visited with the 8th graders to explain Project Lead the Way (PLTW) classes that are offered at the high school. PLTW classes can provide students with experience and college credits leading to a career in engineering and technical fields. Students built catapults to launch marshmallows.
