CLARE -- Clare Town Justice Lisa J. Powers was charged with grand larceny after she allegedly stole more than $4,000 from the Pee Wee Association.

New York State Police charged Powers, of Russell, with third-degree grand larceny.

Troopers say Powers served as a committee member for the Pee Wee Association from 2007 to 2014 and stole more than $4,000 from the league during that time.

Powers was arraigned before Justice James Monroe in the Village of Canton Court and released under the supervision of the St. Lawrence County Probation Department.

She is to reappear in the Canton court on Aug. 26 at 1:30 p.m.
