OGDENSBURG – City Council took no action on it’s proposed budget at Monday’s meeting.
The council was set to vote on its tentative budget that would raise the tax levy by nearly $300,000 and the tax rate by $1.04.
The council has held several budget meetings it has not yet passed any amendments. Councilors agreed to postpone action after City Manager John Pinkerton was unable to attend last night’s meeting due to family-related issue.
Mayor William Nelson said the city manager was key in crafting the budget and should be present before the board votes. Several councilors are expected to submit proposed amendments, but changes were not discussed during the meeting.
City comptroller Phil Cosmo, who filled in for Pinkerton, asked the council to submit their recommendations so they could be reviewed prior to the next meeting.
