POTSDAM -- Chilly Delight will soon move to a new location providing nearly double the space as their current home at 57 Market St.

The frozen yogurt shop will move to 12 Main St. following renovations to the inside of the building, said owner Lori Dillon, who owns the shop with her husband Tim.

The new location is 4,000 square feet which is more than double of the current location, Dillon said.

“He (Tim) is taking walls down and will be ripping up the carpet soon and will install commercial tile,” she said.

Dillon said they plan to paint the shop in the same or similar colors as the current restaurant and expect the layout to remain close to the same.

The new location is all one floor and will allow them to have a regular kitchen area and easier access storage space.

“Right now we store our yogurt in the basement…so this will be a much nicer setup,” she said.

No official date has been set for the move as it depends on how construction projects go at 12 Main St.

Chilly Delight may close for a few days once the new place is ready for the equipment and seating. The closure would likely be mid-week during slower days.

Some of the added space will eventually be used for a birthday party room with a possible entertainment of play area created sometime down the road.

“We are still throwing ideas around as to exactly what to do,” she said.

For now the Dillon’s are concentrating on the move itself and getting the yogurt shop up and running before turning their focus to expanding.

“You reach a point in business where you need to grow and need to be able to meet demands give customers what they want,” Dillon said.

Hours will remain the same once the move is complete. They are open daily from noon until 9 p.m. Their phone number is 265-3713.
