Warmer today, sunny and in the 80s this weekend

Temperatures in St. Lawrence County are expected to warm up for the weekend and beyond.

The National Weather Service is predicting the sky will remain clear as a warming trend begins, with a high near 70 today, and around 80 on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Overnight lows will increase from near freezing tonight, to the low 40s Friday night, and in the 50s evenings through the middle of next week.

We an expect lots of sunshine, with a few cloudy periods, through the week. Right now, there isn't a mention of any rain.

The NWS forecast for the St. Lawrence Valley and northwestern Adirondacks:

Tonight: Patchy frost after 5am. Otherwise, clear, with a low around 36. West wind between 3 and 9 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 70. West wind between 6 and 9 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 41. West wind around 6 mph becoming calm.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 79. West wind between 5 and 8 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 54. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 83.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 58.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 81.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 58.
