EDWARDS -- A fire started by children playing with a cigarette lighter on a bed was contained by Edwards, Fine and Gouverneur firefighters to the upstairs bedroom of the house Sunday.
The Edwards fire house got the call to 12 Pleasant Ave. in Edwards just before 1 p.m.
The house, owned by Patrick Gaurin, was occupied by Crystal Dean and five others.
Edwards and Gouverneur Rescue Squads both responded. No one was reported injured.
Departments on standby were Russell, Star Lake, Harrisville, Hermon, Pyrites and DeKalb.
Edwards firefighters were back in service just after 3 p.m.
St. Lawrence County Fire investigators said the house is insured.
