POTSDAM -- Two charity hockey games at Clarkson University's Cheel Arena raised $1,833 for the Potsdam Educational Opportunities Fund last month.
PEOF is a grassroots organization initiated in 2012 to provide financial support for educational activities in the Potsdam Central School District.
The first game featured Potsdam Central School faculty and staff versus Canton-Potsdam Hospital staff. PCS won 5-3. In the second game, Clarkson faculty and staff faced-off against SUNY Potsdam faculty and staff. SUNY won 7-5.
More than 170 fans watched and joined in the celebration provided by PCS’s cheerleaders and pep band.
PEOF is operated through a volunteer advisory committee of supporters and community representatives.
