There's a good chance of snow tonight and tomorrow to complicate Thanksgiving travel plans for St. Lawrence County residents.

A hazardous weather outlook has been posted for southern parts of the county, from Gouverneur to the Cranberry Lake area, warning of one to four inches of snow accumulation there, while lesser amounts are expected to the north, the National Weather Service predicts.

A nor’easter moving along the mid-Atlantic coast is bringing snow to the North Country. Wet snow will develop across much of northern New York this afternoon.

Slow travel conditions due to slick snow-covered roadways and low visibility in falling snow can be expected this afternoon and tonight.

The snow is expected to end by daybreak on Thanksgiving morning, and mostly dry and seasonably cold conditions will follow through Friday.

The National Weather Service puts the chance of snow this afternoon at 60 percent in Star Lake and 30 percent in Potsdam and Massena. That rises to 60 percent tonight in the central and northern areas of the county, 70 percent in the south.

High temperatures today and tomorrow will be 30 to 35. Lows tonight will be around 20, and a little colder Thursday night.

Friday and Saturday, mostly cloudy conditions are expected.

The NWS forecast for the St. Lawrence Valley and northwestern Adirondacks:
