OGDENSBURG – Attendees at this week’s Seaway Festival will have a chance to see if some of the $12 billion dollars in unclaimed funds the state is holding might be theirs.

Friday, July 26, through Sunday, July 29, representatives of state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s office will be in Library Park on Washington Street between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to help local residents find out if they are owed money.

“New York has $12 billion in unclaimed fund accounts,” DiNapoli said. “We want to return this money to its rightful owners. The money belongs to New Yorkers. We want to give it back.”

New Yorkers may also check for unclaimed funds at www.osc.state.ny.us or by calling toll free (800) 221-9311.
