Meteorologists say after a a rain-sleet mix, the recent blanket of snow could be gone by Monday night.
The National Weather Service predicts a 50 percent chance of rain and sleet for today in all areas of St. Lawrence County. Temperatures are predicted at a high of 37 degree in Massena, Gouverneur and Ogdensburg, with low of 34 in Star Lake.
That is expected to drop by only a degree tonight, with the chances of showers going up to 60 percent.
On Sunday, temperatures are predicted at 44 degrees in most of the county, with a 40 percent chance of rain. Ogdensburg is looking at a 30 percent chance and 50 percent in Star Lake.
Sunday night brings and 80 percent chance of rain, 70 percent in Potsdam. Temperatures are predicted at 40 degrees and a couple degrees cooler in Massena.
Monday carried a 70 percent chance of rain in Massena, Ogdensburg, Canton and Potsdam, with temperatures just shy of 60 degrees.
The extended forecast for Canton:
* Today - A slight chance of sleet between noon and 1pm, then a chance of rain and sleet. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36. Breezy, with a southwest wind 16 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Total daytime sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
* Tonight - Rain likely, mainly before 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 35. Southwest wind 10 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
* Sunday - A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 43. Southwest wind 7 to 10 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
* Sunday night - Showers. Low around 40. Southeast wind 7 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
* Monday - Rain likely, mainly before 9am. Cloudy, with a high near 58. South wind 14 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
* Monday night - A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. Southwest wind around 16 mph. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
* Tuesday - Partly sunny, with a high near 42. Breezy, with a southwest wind 14 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
* Tuesday night - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29. Southwest wind 7 to 13 mph.
