Championship series at Mohawk International Raceway heating up with racing in Akwesasne tonight

AKWESASNE – After a week off last week, Mohawk International Raceway is gearing up for another exciting night tonight as Cedar View Golf Course presents a full racing program featuring the 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, Mod Lites, and Bandits.

The Pro Stock division is not on the card this week.

The 2013 racing season is coming to an end very quickly with just three points nights remaining before champions are crowned in all divisions.

Points battles are very close in almost every division and with just three races remaining the stretch drive will provide fans lots of excitement.

Track champions and Frenchie’s series champions will be crowned on Friday, Aug. 30.

All four DIRTcar Divisions will be on hand during a two-day event Sept. 13 and 14, as well as the Go Nuclear Late Model Series Double Header.

The 2013 season will end the following weekend with the annual “Ironman Slick” Enduro.

Pit Gates and spectator area open at 4 p.m. today. Heat race action will get underway at 7:30 p.m.

Pit admission is $25 with DIRTcar license and $30 without. Grandstand admission is only $12 with children 12 and under admitted for free.

Mohawk International Raceway is in Akwesasne, midway between the Seaway International Bridge to Cornwall and the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino. From Route 37, turn south onto Frogtown Road.
