CANTON – A cat died in a fire that destroyed a camp Sunday night, according to St. Lawrence County fire investigators.
Canton Fire and Rescue responded at 9:23 p.m. to the property owned by Martin A. Rivers blaze at 158 County Route 27.
The Pyrites, Pierrepont, Russell and West Potsdam fire departments were on standby as firefighters fought the blaze.
There were no occupants in the camp, investigators.
Firefighters returned to the station at 12:47 a.m. Cause of the fire is under investigation.
