Total cargo and transits on the St. Lawrence Seaway were up in July compared to the same month last year, according to the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation.
The SLSMC says 16,044,000 metric tons of total cargo passed through the Seaway last month, up 18.15 percent from last year.
There were 1,759 total transits, up 10.21 percent from last year, SLSMC said.
Other totals for July include:
• All grain - 3,763,000 metric tons, 4.59 percent increase
• Iron ore - 3,721,000 metric tons, 68.41 percent increase
• Coal - 929,000 metric tons, 13.75 percent decrease
• Dry bulk - 4,416,000 metric tons, 15.54 percent increase
• Liquid bulk - 1,734,000 metric tons, 2.01 percent decrease
• General cargo - 1,467,000 metric tons, 35.37 percent increase
