OGDENSBURG -- City police say an octogenarian was ticketed following a two-car crash Thursday afternoon that ended with three people being sent to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center to be evaluated for injuries that are non-life-threatening.
S.A. Odrechowski, a Heuvelton resident who is either 82 or 83, was cited for failure to stop at a red light, according to Ptl. Jason Streeter. Streeter said the accident report only contained his first initials and the year he was born.
Odrechowski was driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck south on Linden Street and went through the light, police said. Jacqueline E. Madden was driving a Hyndai Santa Fe sport utility vehicle eastbound on state Route 37 and collided with him, Streeter said.
Rescue personnel took all three from the scene to Claxton-Hepburn for evaluation.
Both vehicles were totaled, according to Streeter, who said no further charges are expected.
The highway was closed for about 35 minutes while first responders removed the vehicles.
