CANTON -- Maplewood Campus recently held an appreciation afternoon for campus volunteers.
Maplewood Campus has more than two dozen active volunteers.
“People often think of a volunteer as someone who helps make the beds and fluffs pillows,” said Dawn Kimble, activities director for Maplewood. “Volunteers play a much more important role in the lives of our residents. Volunteers are often family to those who have no surviving family, friend to those who have no remaining friends or grandchild for those who have no children.”
Volunteers read to residents, help with activities, assist with outings and provide entertainment for a group.
