CANTON -- Canoes and kayaks filled the Canton waterway on Sunday as paddlers competed in the annual Little River Ramble.
Competitors raced a six or two-mile on what turned out to be a fair-weather afternoon.
There were 23 boats and 32 paddlers including six teams from Paul Smiths College. The fastest time in the six-mile race was a C-2 from Paul Smiths paddled by Dylan Kirk & Ben Jacques.
“This event was a great tune-up for Canton Canoe Weekend,” said Mary Kelly who competed in the event.
Canton Canoe Weekend will be May 3, 4, and 5.
The race was the first of the 2013 season for St. Lawrence Valley Paddlers. You can see the rest of their races on: www.slvpaddlers.org. Please visit: twoguysandacamera.com for action photos from the race.
