CANTON -- The water main break near the railroad tracks on State Rt. 310 that had affected properties from Stiles Avenue all the way out to the Comfort Suites on East Main, and from the railroad tracks on Rt. 310 out to Rt. 11, has been fixed and a boil-water alert has been lifted for everyone except businesses in the University Plaza and at Kinney Drugs..
Village Superintendent Brien Hallahan says only cleanup at the site remains, and repaving the street.
Hallahan said they are trying to schedule the paving for Wednesday, when a temporary road closure may be in effect.
