CANTON -- The town board of Canton held its annual year-end meeting Thursday, Dec. 28, at noon.
The meeting was the final gathering of the board presided over by outgoing supervisor David Button.
Button who has served as Canton’s town supervisor lost his election bid to former village mayor Mary Ann Ashley in the November election.
The 15-minute meeting allowed the board to approve a few year-end bills and several budget overages.
A special meeting of the board will be held Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018 at 6 p.m. in the municipal building court room.
Agenda items will include a swearing in ceremony of the elected officials, including Ashley and newly elected town councilman Tim Danehy.
The board will also conduct the usual reorganizational business like supervisor and board appointments, deputy town clerk appointment, rules and procedures review, contract approvals and other items.
The agenda can be viewed on the town’s website here. Copies are available in the municipal building, and in the town clerk’s office.
The meeting is open to the public.
