CANTON -- The Inaugural Sami Curtis Award was presented at Canton Central School’s annual banquet on Thursday, March 22.
The award was presented to Allyson LaFlair, a senior at Canton Central and treasurer of the FFA.
The Sami Curtis Award was established by Jerry and Shirley Hourihan, Sami's grandparents, and Kate and Alan Mulkin, Sami's aunt and uncle, to honor a female student involved in FFA, soccer and/or basketball who embodies the characteristics Sami is remembered for, namely: sincere kindness toward others, selflessness as a leader and a Never Give Up attitude.
