CANTON -- Sixth graders at St. Mary's School, 2 Powers St., celebrated Pi Day during math class March 13 by singing Pi Day carols and reading a story called "Sir Cumference and the Dragon of Pi." Students also found Pi by dividing the circumference by the diameter of small pies…before eating them,” a school release said.
The winners of the Pi recitation contest were: 1st place, Gavin Thomas with 77 digits, 2nd place, Brody VanBuren with 70 digits and 3rd place and Grace Sawyko with 64 digits. The winners each received a small homemade pie of their choice.
