CANTON — Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s proposal of $17.6 million in state aid to Canton Central School would be an increase of just under two percent versus last year.
The Board of Education met Thursday night and listened to a recap of the governor’s proposal from Superintendent William Gregory.
“We are looking at it in earnest — we will look at the budget line by line at the next meeting,” he said.
“We expect there to be some shortfalls,” he said, “I am hopeful the legislature adds to our Foundation Aid and other school districts too.”
Gregory said the school typically inquires about replacing older buses and the school will aim to replace three within this budget.
