WADDINGTON -- Canton and Potsdam women won prizes from the Janome sewing machine company’s “Did You Make Your Prom Dress?” contest.
Lisa Cullen of Canton and Carmel Rastley of Potsdam each took home free sewing machines.
Cullen had originally won the contest with the most votes, but Janome America contest officials were not able to contact her by e-mail. Instead, they named Rastley, with the second place votes, the winner.
After finding out that both women were from the same area, Janome gave both a Skyline S5 sewing machine.
