POTSDAM -- In recognition of National Environmental Services and Housekeeping Week, Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s Environmental Services Department is publicizing its drive to raise funds for a new heavy duty washing machine.
Canton Potsdam Hospital processes almost 14,000 pounds of laundry a every week. And as the hospital adds providers and services, their need for efficient laundry services grows.
This year they are buying a 150-pound washing machine, which costs nearly $40,000. For comparison, the average home washing machine capacity is six pounds.
