POTSDAM -- With a $1,000 grant received from the Potsdam Youth Philanthropy Council of the NNY Community Foundation, Canton-Potsdam Hospital purchased 145 home first aid kits for distribution to clients of the Potsdam, Canton, and Parishville-Hopkinton-Colton Neighborhood Centers.

In 2015, CPH embarked on a partnership with local St. Lawrence County Community Development Program (SLCCDP) Neighborhood Centers involving quarterly community visits, providing screenings and health information onsite to clients of the centers.

Responding to a need for home health supplies, a grant was obtained to purchase kits for distribution by the Centers’ directors to families or individuals who could most benefit from home first aid supplies.

Kinney Drugs, 200 Market St., Potsdam, was able to procure 145 kits at cost, meaning that an additional 45 kits were purchased.

The Northern New York Community Foundation supports programs and scholarships in St. Lawrence, Jefferson, and Lewis Counties. Dedicated to improving the quality of life in Northern New York, the foundation is funded by donations.
