POTSDAM -- Canton-Potsdam Hospital CEO David B. Acker recently gave a donation Clarkson University’s Department of Physician Assistant Studies.

He met with students and Michael Whitehead, PA, Clinical Associate Professor and Chair of the Department, to make the donation in support of physician assistant students’ mission trip to the Dominican Republic in spring 2015.

Students involved in the mission trip participate in experiential learning as they provide free medical care to children and adults in regions of the world where residents have little or no access to care.

Joining them on the trip are CPH medical staff members Terry “Nick” Knowles, DO, a family physician (shown front, first at left), Susan J. Knowles, NP, Director of Clarkson University’s Health Center (third row from the top, at far right), and Keith B. Young, DHSc, PA-C, DFAAPA, Associate Program Director/Director of Didactic Education in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies at Clarkson University (at front far right).

This is the second consecutive year of the hospital’s support for the PA students’ global health outreach efforts.
