Canton, Potsdam, Colton, Oswegatchie, Rossie, Morristown, Lisbon, Fowler, DePeyster, Clare party primaries are Tuesday
Several towns in St. Lawrence County will hold primaries on Tuesday.
In Canton a Republican primary will be held for the highway superintendent position. Jim Gibson will challenger incumbent Terry L. Billings for the Republican nomination. Both candidates will also be on the ballot for a Conservative primary for the same position. Michael R. Morgan and Christopher R. Curley are vying for the Conservative endorsement for the Canton town justice.In Potsdam three Democrats will seek two open town council seats. Incumbent Judith Rich, Connor Newcombe, a Potsdam Central School senior, and Sarah Lister, daughter-in-law of town board member Rose Rivezzi, will face off in the primary.
In Colton John J. Gray Jr. will challenge Kevin Beary for Republican nomination. Meanwhile Timothy M. White will face off against incumbent Kevin Hawley for highway superintendent Republican nod. Peggy Mousaw, Grace Hawley and Harold Granger will also compete for two open council seats on the Republican line.
In Oswegatchie Michael Hebert will challenge Alfred J. Nichols for the Republican endorsement in the race for town supervisor.
In Rossie Rebecca Cole-Manners will face-off against Philip J. Gentile for the Republican line in the race for town justice.
In Morristown incumbent David J. Murray is being challenged by Michael J. Moore for the Republican line for town clerk.
In Lisbon James P. Snyder is challenging Michael A. Baldock for the Republican endorsement for highway superintendent.
In Fowler Jeffrey A. Andrews and David L. Spillman will compete for the Republican line in a race for town council.
In DePeyster Kevin L. Murdock and Robert Chambers are competing for the Republican line in the race for highway superintendent.
In Clare Jessica Hanca and Robin L. Ward are facing off in a Republican primary for town clerk. Pamela A. Hance, Kalysta M. Giffin and Joyce Clothier are seeking Republican endorsements for two open town council seats.
