CANTON — A Canton man was jailed on grand larceny charges for allegedly stealing tools and DVDs in separate incidents, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Timothy S. Sharpstene Jr., 26, was charged with third-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree grand larceny and criminal trespassing.
Sharpstene allegedly stole tools worth of $3,000 from a garage on Jingleville Road in July. The tools included a chainsaw, floor jack, air tools, wrenches, sockets, toolboxes and other handheld tools.
Sharpstene sold the tools at a later date, officers said.
While investigating the theft on Jingleville Road, deputies discovered information about missing property from a 5 State St. address.
Following investigation, Sharpstene was charged for stealing 90 DVDs from the State Street address.
He was arraigned in Macomb court and held on $3,000 bail or $6,000 bond.
