CANTON -- A Canton man has been arrested for the fifth time in less than a month for stalking an ex-girlfriend, and this time he is accused of burglarizing her residence.
Police said the charges stem from an incident at his ex-girlfriend's residence on Sept. 1.
He was arraigned by Justice Michael Morgan and jailed in the county lockup in Canton in lieu of $50,000 bail or $100,000 bond, police said.
Police had previously charged VanBrocklin with second-degree criminal contempt and fourth-degree stalking for sending text messages to the ex-girlfriend on Aug. 10.
He was charged with criminal mischief and stalking on Aug. 12 for slashing two tires and cutting a cable at her residence.
VanBrocklin was charged with violating an order of protection by going onto the ex-girlfriend's property on Aug. 16.
He was also arrested on Aug. 21 for second-degree criminal mischief, a class D felony, for spray painting the ex-girlfriend’s vehicle and house on Aug. 14.
