CANTON -- A Canton man is in the county jail on $3,500 bail, accused of stealing $1,083 off the counter at the Pizza Hut in the University Shopping Plaza on East Main Street Sunday.
Canton police said Timothy Nara, 19, 14 Park St., was taken into custody after the store manager caught up with him on East Main Street and held him for police.
Sgt. Basil Cheney said the restaurant manager had help from a witness who gave him a description of the suspect.
Nara has been charged with third-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny, both felonies.
The suspect reportedly entered the restaurant Sunday before it opened and took the money off of the counter.
Nara was arraigned in Canton Town Court and is due back there Wednesday afternoon.
