CANTON -- A Canton man was arrested Wednesday morning on State Route 68 for driving while intoxicated following a property-damage accident, according to state police.
Troopers received a 911 call where the caller said a vehicle was off the roadway on SH 68. Upon investigation, troopers discovered no one inside the vehicle or around it. Police noticed and followed footprints in the snow leading to an adjacent field.
Troopers located man lying in tall grass in the field about 100 yards from the vehicle.
Conrad A. LaRock, 34, was charged at 2:15 a.m. with first-offense DWI, unlawful possession of marijuana, speeding, operating a motor vehicle without an inspection certificate and a license plate violation.
He was found in possession of 1.1 grams of marijuana. His blood-alcohol content was .14 percent, officers said.
No damage was done to the vehicle or any property during the accidents, officers said.
He was released on his own recognizance, officers said.
No injuries were reported.
