MASSENA -- Village police say they charged a naked Canton man with impaired driving and lewdness after he was spotted in the buff at a gas station and allegedly followed a woman home.
On Aug. 25 at 9:05 p.m., police charged Bruce E. Woodruff, 54, of Potter Road, Canton with driving while intoxicated, refusal to take a breath test and public lewdness, police said.
That day, a person called village police and reported she saw a naked man get out of a pickup truck at Mountain Mart, South Main Street, and then follow her home, Massena police Chief Adam Love said.
Police then received a second call that the naked man was back at Mountain Mart. Patrols tracked him down in the Kinney Drugs parking lot, where a naked Woodruff was trying to pull jeans up from his ankles as officers approached, Love said.
Woodruff is to answer the charges in Massena court on a later date.
