CANTON – A Canton man has been charged with animal cruelty for allegedly causing a fracture to the leg of a dog and then letting it go untreated by a veterinarian for more than a week.

St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies arrested Wiliam J. Peruchetti , 23, of 248 Irish Settlement Rd., at 6:15 p.m. Friday.

Peruchetti was cited for the misdemeanor charge of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals, deputies said.

He is to face the charge in Town of Canton Court at a later date, deputies said.
