CANTON -- A St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility inmate is facing five charges for allegedly tampering with a witness to a pending court case, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Jesse G. Austin, 37, of Canton is charged with five misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree witness tampering, deputies said.
Around May 6, Austin allegedly sent letters to the person, who was not identified in a news release from the Sheriff's Office, deputies said.
He was charged Friday, according to police.
He was given orders to appear in Canton Town Court on a later date, police said.
