CANTON -- The Canton Goldenaires gave two Singing Valentines Scholarship Awards to students from Madrid-Waddington Central School this past week.
Madrid-Waddington Central students have won this award in 2011 and 2014. This year, Sophia Roome and Anna Scott were chosen for their academic, civic, school participation and sports accomplishments. Sophia is planning to major in Music Therapy and Anna in Pre-Med.
The 2015 winners met the chorus Monday night and announced they were both going to attend St. Lawrence University. The funding for these scholarship come exclusively from the Goldenaires "Singing Valentine Program" ordered by the people from our communities.
