CANTON -- The Canton Free Library has received $5,500 to improve the usability and versatility of the library’s community room, the Paige Room, on the building’s lower level.
The Paige Room is used for library activities and for many other meetings held by local and county-wide organizations.
The grant is intended for a large folding room divider that will allow two groups to use the space at the same time or create a smaller space for a cozier setting; new furnishings including a podium and a replacement loveseat; and more efficient replacement windows in the Paige Room and the adjoining kitchen.
The library will also replace an old exhaust fan in the kitchen.
The grant is from the Grasseroots Fund, a foundation supporting the efforts of non-profit organizations in St. Lawrence County, administered by the Northern New York Community Foundation, based in Watertown.
