CANTON – A family of five recently co-wrote and published a textbook on mathematics.
The Lock family, headed by St. Lawrence University professors Patti Frazer Lock and Robin Lock, published “Statistics: Unlocking the Power of Data” this month.
Both Lock parents are professors; Patti teaches mathematics and Robin teaches statistics. Kari Lock Morgan, Eric Lock and Dennis Lock joined their parents in authoring the math text, which is geared toward an introductory-level statistics course.
Kari Lock Morgan is an assistant professor in statistical science at Duke University. Eric Lock is a post-doctoral student at Duke, and Dennis Lock is in the process of earning a Ph.D. in statistics at Iowa State University.
The book follows the teaching methodology currently used by Robin Lock in his courses.
