CANTON -- The Canton Community Fund Board of Directors is encouraging representatives of non-profit groups and organizations serving the Town and Village of Canton to apply for grants to further their work. Guidelines, along with other information about the CCF, can be found at http://www.cantoncommunityfund.org.
Recent CCF grants have gone to the Canton Unitarian-Universalist Church, for the banner in the village park promoting the church’s hosting of Red Cross blood drives, and to the Town and Village historian for computer hardware.
At its March meeting, the CCF conveyed $1,000 to Canton Central School in support of its ultimately successful goal to provide pedometers to every McKenney Middle School student as part of its Smart Steps for Success program, and approved a grant request of $690 from the Church & Community Program for replacement of a failed freezer in its food pantry.
Since its January meeting the board has welcomed two new members, Mary Ann Ashley and Christopher Rediehs.
The Canton Community Fund welcomes donations toward its work in the community. Information about how to make a gift can be found at http://www.cantoncommunityfund.org.
